• I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Louisiana Tech University. 
• My Master of Education degree in Health and Physical Education and Secondary Education was received from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. 
• My Plus 30 was obtained from Louisiana State University.
• I taught at the University of Louisiana at Monroe from 1985 to 2003 and Southeastern Louisiana University from 2003 to 2005. 
• This is my fifth year teaching/coaching in the public school system and at McKinley Middle Academic Magnet.
• I am a highly qualified Louisiana teacher.
• I am certified in Health, Physical Education, and English.
• I am the "Coach" for the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) Team.
• I am the Too Good for Drugs/Too Good for Violence
• I have been involved with my state professional association for 24 years (Louisiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (LAHPERD) in the following roles:

• Special Awards Chair
• Friday, November 7, 2008, I was awarded the LAHPERD Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year Award.
