McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School of Visual & Performing Arts offers an academically focused program for college bound students. MMAMVP features a wide range of instructional opportunities, offering high school credit in Spanish, French, Algebra 1, Computer and Physical Sciences, while showcasing the arts: Music, both vocal and instrumental, Dance, Art, Drama, and Creative Writing. Plus, there are many academic and special interest clubs, internet access in classrooms, low student-teacher ratios and terrific extracurricular activities, including basketball, volleyball and track.

 Artist Residency Program!!! The Artist Residency Program places professional artists to work with specified teachers and classrooms. Together, they will learn through an interdisciplinary unit, utilizing study of an arts discipline and a core curriculum area. Click here.
Dress Code Reminders
McKinley Middle Family, We realize that the season is changing and the cooler weather is settling in. We would just like to remind you of a few things concerning the uniform. *Sweatshirts, sweaters or light jackets must be SOLID navy blue or white. These items may be found at Walmart or Target. *Any color heavy jacket or coat may be worn in the winter but must be removed inside the building. * No hoods shall be worn inside the building. * If a shirt is worn under the uniform shirt, it must not be seen so that the uniform shirt ONLY is visible on campus. The only undershirt that can be visible/acceptable is a solid white undershirt. * Navy blue turtlenecks are acceptable in the winter. * ALL shirts must be tucked in. These uniform rules will be STRICTLY enforced.

A PBIS School of the Year!!!!
McKinley Middle Magnet was awarded the 2007-2008 PBIS School of the Year! Congratulations also goes to Lynn Williamson, who was awarded PBIS Coach of the Year for 2007-2008!

PASS for LEAP and iLEAP Testing
Practice for iLEAP and LEAP Assessment Test
It's never too early to practice for iLEAP and LEAP Assessment. Welcome to PASS. This is a site sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Education that is designed to allow students to practice with assessment test. It is easy to access and a great aid in preparing the student for the LEAP and iLEAP test in the Spring.
DIRECTIONS FOR STUDENTS TO LOG INTO PASS or NEWTON'S CLASSROOM
1. You must first click HERE.
2. Use the first-time screen name and password to log in. These are: screen name: student; password: tiger.
After log in, students must make up a screen name. You should write this name and password in a safe place so that you can use it again every time you need to log in. Now you can begin your practice! Good Luck!!
